Scope
Responsible for client intake which includes: needs assessments, referrals to internal programs, clerical, and administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Based on initial contact, assist clients to complete intake form
- Refer clients to internal programs’ staff based on identified needs and eligibility
- Maintain client appointments for site program staff if assigned
- Assist with the client/student satisfaction surveys, as well as conducting follow-up contacts
- Ensure students’ attendance records are updated in various databases
- Assist in organizing group information sessions
- Answer phones, respond to clients’ inquiries, and forward calls as appropriate
- Receive couriers/deliveries and perform clerical duties, including typing, photocopying, etc.
- Effectively track and provide accurate reporting to manager
Qualifications
- A post-secondary education in Administration, Social Services, or other related fields
- Good understanding of the Canadian social services system and sensitivity to needs of newcomers
- Available from Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 5:00pm
- Sound knowledge of computers, MS Windows, and MS office
- Punctual and responsible with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with a strong customer service orientation
- Acceptance is conditional on satisfactory police reference check
