Scope

Responsible for client intake which includes: needs assessments, referrals to internal programs, clerical, and administrative support.

 

Responsibilities

  • Based on initial contact, assist clients to complete intake form
  • Refer clients to internal programs’ staff based on identified needs and eligibility
  • Maintain client appointments for site program staff if assigned
  • Assist with the client/student satisfaction surveys, as well as conducting follow-up contacts
  • Ensure students’ attendance records are updated in various databases
  • Assist in organizing group information sessions
  • Answer phones, respond to clients’ inquiries, and forward calls as appropriate
  • Receive couriers/deliveries and perform clerical duties, including typing, photocopying, etc.
  • Effectively track and provide accurate reporting to manager

 

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary education in Administration, Social Services, or other related fields
  • Good understanding of the Canadian social services system and sensitivity to needs of newcomers
  • Available from Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 5:00pm
  • Sound knowledge of computers, MS Windows, and MS office
  • Punctual and responsible with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with a strong customer service orientation
  • Acceptance is conditional on satisfactory police reference check

 

Other requirements

  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
